Senior Systems Administrator/Dev Ops

JOB TITLE:  Senior Systems Administrator/Dev Ops
REPORTS TO:  Manager of IT & Security
STRUCTURE:   Full Time, Salary Exempt
LOCATION:  Remote
 
We are looking for an experienced system administrator to join our small but nimble IT team! We put a heavy emphasis on developing innovative in-house solutions to build, automate, and monitor our infrastructure efficiently and effectively, so the successful candidate will have a strong background in scripting and automated deployment tools. This role requires critical thinking skills, an ability to troubleshoot complex problems, and continuously learn new things. We love to collaborate internally and with our counterparts in the development and support teams, so the ability to play well with others is a must!
 
Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day operations of on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Identify and implement scripted solutions to build, automate, and monitor infrastructure and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations
  • Work collaboratively with teams around the globe to deliver innovative solutions that enable strategic business objectives
  • Develop and maintain procedural documentation
  • Implement and maintain data security controls
  • Participate in security and privacy incident response process as required
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity process as required
  • Support internal and external audit requests
Qualifications
  • Ability to code/script in languages commonly used by system administrators or DevOps team members (e.g., Python, PowerShell, bash)
  • Experience with on-premise and cloud-based databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Mongo
  • Experience with GIT version control system
  • Experience with infrastructure/configuration/orchestration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Vagrant)
  • Experience with container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS)
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code and related concepts on public cloud
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (e.g., solid understanding of CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, CloudTrail)
  • Working knowledge of basic networking concepts
  • Working knowledge of information security concepts
  • 3+ Years of experience administering Windows Server operating systems and Windows Domains
  • 3+ Years of experience administering UNIX-based operating systems
  • 2+ Years of experience with AWS, including the following:
    • Proficiency in the administration of EC2, S3, Auto Scaling, and IAM policies
    • Ability to select the appropriate AWS service based on compute, data, or security requirements.
    • Estimate AWS usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.
    • Evaluating, recommending, and implementing enhancements to the current architectural and AWS services
    • Understanding of AWS network, security, and encryption technologies (e.g., advanced VPC concepts)
